IEEE Karachi Section held their annual Student/YP/WIE Congress on December 19, 2015 at Regent Plaza in Karachi. 20 members from IEEE FICT at BUITEMS attended, including 2 female faculty members, 2 female student members, and 14 male students. The Congress included an important meeting of the R10 Karachi Section Chair which was attended by Shehzar Shahzad Sheikh, Chair of IEEE SB BUITEMS, to represent BUITEMS' IEEE student branch events, strategies, and future plans.
The IEEE Student Branch at BUITEMS organized a workshop on AC motor, pressure pumps, and home appliance repair that provided 1 CPD credit point. The workshop provided hands-on experience with electrical appliances and covered the internal structures of motors, pumps, and how pressure is developed in appliances. Both faculty and students attended, and lectures were given by engineering students and lecturers on the topics. The workshop concluded with motivational speeches and distribution of certifications to participants and speakers.

The event was called WEEK OF WELCOME (WOW) which was exclusively arranged for the freshmen of FICT batch of 2015 at BUITEMS on October 19th, 2015. The goal was to provide information to new students about university services, academic requirements, faculty members, important departments, and resources to help them start their journey successfully. There were introduction sessions from various deans and department heads, experience sharing from older students, and introductions to IEEE and WIE student groups. Over 21 speakers addressed 245 participants over the course of the 3 hour event.

Over 55 first-year students participated and enjoyed learning programming through gaming. The event also encouraged female students to demonstrate leadership by representing and managing the entire workshop with slight support from the IEEE Student Branch.
The IEEE Student Branch at BUITEMS held a cake cutting ceremony on October 19, 2015 to honor Iqbal Day. The event was organized to provide information to students about Muhammad Iqbal, his philosophy, thinking, and devotion to religion. Several speakers discussed aspects of Iqbal's personality and encouraged students to emulate his example. The Dean emphasized that Iqbal was not just a poet but a motivator whose poetry conveyed high-level thinking and a dignified life perspective. Faculty members from various departments attended along with over 50 students.

Students from departments like Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Software Engineering participated by presenting their year-long work and project themes. The event aimed to encourage innovation among students and complement the need for innovation in Pakistan. Prizes and certificates were distributed to students who participated in the poster exhibition.
The two-day Arduino technical workshop was held on September 15-16, 2015 at Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS) in Takatu, Pakistan. The workshop introduced 75 participants to the Arduino IDE and covered basic programming, digital and analog I/O, interfacing with computers, and using sensors, LCDs, and motors with Arduino. Participants received certificates of participation and lunch was provided at the end of the workshop.
The PSYWC'15 workshop was held from October 2-4, 2015 at COMSATS Institute of Information and Technology Islamabad. It provided a platform for IEEE Student Branches, Women in Engineering groups, and Young Professionals groups across Pakistan to discuss activities from the year and for students to interact with academics and industry professionals to enhance their engineering and professional skills. Twenty-one students from BUITEMS IEEE Student Branch participated and received certificates at the end of the workshop.
