Theranostics involves using radiolabeled agents for both diagnosing and treating diseases. Iodine-131 was one of the first theranostic agents used for both imaging and treating thyroid conditions. Other promising theranostic nuclides discussed include iodine-123, iodine-124, gallium-68, lutetium-177, copper-64, copper-67, tin-117m, and fluorine-18 FDG which shows potential for imaging and cytotoxic effects against cancer cells. Effective theranostic agents require properties like appropriate half-lives and radiation types to enable both diagnostic imaging and therapeutic doses to diseased sites.
The document provides instructions for students on completing assignments from their REV It Up! textbook, homework procedures, taking a textbook home, reflecting on missed test questions, processing their quarterly test, and closing instructions. Students are told to read passages in their textbook, copy vocabulary words, find and copy sentences with target words, do their everyday homework, complete a weekend assignment, take a textbook home, reflect on missed test items, check their quarterly test answers, and submit materials in their blue folder to be taken home.
The document discusses increased expectations for the new quarter, including less discussion and more independent reading and writing. Students will need to take responsibility for following directions to earn grades. Advanced literacy skills are increasingly important as students will need to read and write more than ever to succeed in school, careers, and life. The document encourages students to practice reading carefully on their own through library books to develop these important skills.
The narrator describes her name, Esperanza, and its meaning and origins. Her name means hope in English but is too long in Spanish. It comes from her great-grandmother, who was a wild woman that never married until being kidnapped by her husband. The narrator wonders if her great-grandmother was happy with her life or regretted not being able to pursue what she wanted. At school, others pronounce her name strangely, but in Spanish it has a softer sound. The narrator would like to change her name to something that better captures who she truly is.
The homework assignment asks students to complete sentences about why names are important and to choose two comparisons of their name being like a song, city, machine, or storm. Students must then write two sentences for each comparison. Additionally, students are instructed to make an acrostic poem using the letters of their name to describe themselves, with an example using the name Josie provided.

This document discusses various free online tools that can be used in the classroom to engage students and meet curriculum standards. It argues that the library is the "sweet spot" of the school, as it is where past and future meet through the use of new technologies alongside traditional research methods. Several creative tools are presented for making word clouds, images, videos, and infographics to explain concepts in fun ways. Limitations of each tool are also acknowledged. The document concludes by proposing a fictional "Dachshund Logo" program that could incorporate all subjects through student presentations and projects using the various technologies.
