Cebu is a highly urbanised city in the province of the same name in the Central Visayas region in Philippines. It is sometimes called the second city of Philippines, after Manila, owing to its importance for business, finance, and tourism in the country. It is the fifth most populous city in the country, and is culturally significant as the first Spanish settlement and the country’s oldest city. It was also the first capital of the Philippines.
