Theatre Royal Stratford East is holding two free singing taster sessions on October 22nd for residents of local housing associations led by soul singer Byron Gold. The informal sessions will introduce different styles of singing and allow participants to meet members of Stratford East Singers. From the taster sessions, 15 people from each housing organization will be selected to join a new community choir that will meet weekly in November through January and perform at Stratford East Singers' annual concert on January 15, 2017. No previous singing experience is required and being part of the choir would benefit career CVs.

We are running TWO SPECIAL SINGING TASTER SESSIONS for residents of East Thames Group, L&Q
and Genesis Housing Associations at Theatre Royal Stratford East. The sessions will be informal and fun –
singing everything from gospel to pop - and will be a chance to meet some of the STRATFORD EAST
SINGERS (BBC TV’s ‘The Naked Choir’). Led by soul singer BYRON GOLD, these special sessions are all
FREE. No previous singing experience is necessary.
From these Taster Sessions, 15 people from each organisation will be selected to form a new COMMUNITY
CHOIR, meeting for 6 sessions throughout November to January. They will also be given the chance to
perform a song on the main stage of Theatre Royal Stratford East, as part of STRATFORD EAST SINGERS’
annual concert, led by BYRON GOLD on Sun 15 January 2017! Attendance at a Taster Session – or being
