DANCE OF THE TRIBES
Josephine Baker was a woman of many talents.
She used her influence in the entertainment
industry to fight for a more diverse world. She
was an activist who spoke against racism. In
showing her love for all peoples of different
ethnicity, she adopted many children from
around the world and called them her “Rain-
bow Tribe.” Her heart’s desire for a diverse
world and the idea that tribes frequently come
together to dance became the driving inspira-
tion behind this collection of patterns.
