"The CARE Framework" by Lisa Petrides, Douglas Levin, and C. Edward Watson is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0
The CARE Framework could be used as a rubric for
assessing partnerships. It could also be described as a set of
values that support our field. Another way to look at is that
the CARE framework helps us look at how we sustain,
maintain, and grow OER. How can we apply this Framework
to realize the best intentions of OER and sharing?
How can we use the CARE framework in making immediate
decisions regarding institutional partnerships in delivery of
OER to students?
How could the CARE framework be applied in our goal of
sustaining, maintaining, and growing OER?
Is the CARE Framework a set of habits and practices for
individuals and organizations, or is it a kind of rubric for
decision-making? How should we best apply it?
What are some examples of how this could encourage more
“openness” and sharing?
What are some examples of how this could encourage for-
profit companies to embrace the true nature of open?
In practice the CARE Framework can be a powerful tool for
self and organizational reflection. How can we leverage that
reflection into sustainable development of our OER efforts?
A stated goal of the CARE Framework is growing and
diversifying the OE Ecosystem, but usually our institutions
are most interested in our own projects- How can we use the
CARE Framework to grow both?
