The cavern of the witches is a cave located in Malargüe, Mendoza, Argentina that was discovered in the 1940s. Only authorized Malargüe guides can accompany visitors inside, providing helmets and lanterns. The cave contains two large chambers, one with a giant stalagmite and another called the "Mouth of the Shark," connected by an aluminum staircase. Further inside are rooms decorated with unique stalagmite formations resembling fungi or corals. Local legend says the cave was once inhabited by the Pehuenche people and is called the "Cave of Witches" due to stories of disappearances and strange lights and voices heard at night.
