6. Position Tooling (A) under clamp (5) to remove electronic unit injector (3).
Installation Procedure
NOTICE
When a fuel injector group is serviced, the new fuel injector group's
electronic injector code must be programmed into the engine's
personality module software by using the calibration menu on the
Electronic Service Tool. If the new fuel injector group's electronic code
is not entered, the previous fuel injector group's characteristics are
assumed.
If it is not possible to immediately reprogram the electronic injector
code of the injector into the personality module software, the engine
will not be severely harmed. The new electronic injector code should be
reprogrammed as quickly as possible in order to optimize engine
performance.
1. Install electronic unit injector (3) in the reverse order of removal.
a. Use Tooling (E) to remove the fuel and oil from the cylinder. Evacuate as much fuel
and oil as possible from the cylinder before installing the electronic unit injector.
Several evacuations may be necessary.

c. Use Tooling (C) to clean tip bore (8).
d. Lubricate the seals lightly with a 50/50 mix of clean engine oil and Tooling (D).
e. Tighten bolt (4) to a torque of 70 ± 15 N·m (52 ± 11 lb ft).

Electronic unit injector serial number (Y)
f. Record all the injector serial numbers located on top of electronic unit injector (3).
The injector serial numbers will be used for downloading trim files for new or
exchanged electronic unit injectors (3). Refer to Troubleshooting, "Injector Trim
Calibration" for the correct procedure for injector trim calibration.

3. Tighten the nut until electronic unit injector sleeve (1) is pulled free of the cylinder head
assembly.

1. Use Tooling (B) to clean the bore in the cylinder head for the electronic unit injector sleeve.
NOTICE
Ensure that the electronic unit injector sleeve and the cylinder head
bore are completely free of oil, dirt, and sealant debris.

2. Install new O-ring seals (2) and (3) on electronic unit injector sleeve (1).
Note: Do not apply Tooling (C) to the cylinder head surfaces. Apply Tooling (C) on the
electronic unit injector sleeve only.
3. Apply a thin coat of Tooling (C) to O-ring seal (3) and the contact surface of electronic unit
injector sleeve (1) on the surface that is Marked "X".

4. Install Tooling (A) into the threads of electronic unit injector sleeve (1).
5. Position Tooling (A) and the electronic unit injector sleeve in the cylinder head. Use care
not to damage the O-ring seal on the electronic unit injector sleeve.

11. Ensure that the electronic unit injector sleeve is properly seated in the
cylinder head. The Tooling will "RING" when the electronic unit
injector sleeve is fully seated in the bore of the cylinder head.
6. Use Tooling (A) and a hammer to install electronic unit injector sleeve (1) in the cylinder
head.
7. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change"
for the correct draining and filling procedures.

13. 2. Disconnect clamp assembly (2) and remove diffuser (1) from the turbocharger.
3. Disconnect tube assemblies (3) and (4) .

4. Disconnect hose assemblies (5) and (7) .
5. Disconnect tube assembly (6) .
6. Attach a suitable lifting device to turbocharger (8). The weight of turbocharger (8) is
approximately 26 kg (57 lb).
7. Remove nuts (9) and turbocharger (8). Discard the gasket and nuts (9) .

8. If needed, carefully remove clamp assemblies (2) and (10). Discard the clamp assemblies.
Installation Procedure
1. Install turbocharger (8) in the reverse order of removal.

14. a. Put clean engine oil in the oil inlet of the turbocharger after assembly or before
installation. This action will provide lubrication during start-up and during storage.
b. Tighten new clamp assemblies (10) to a torque of 13.6 ± 1.2 N·m (120 ± 11 lb in).
c. Tighten new clamp assemblies (2) to a torque of 12 ± 4 N·m (106 ± 35 lb in).
d. Apply Tooling (A) to the threads of new nuts (9) prior to installation. Tighten nuts (9)
to a torque of 70 ± 5 N·m (52 ± 4 lb ft).
