Catalysta, a New Network for Socially Responsible Jobseekers and Employers, to
Launch Labor Day

Brooklyn, NY—Aug. 8, 2011—Those who are seeking to secure a job that satisfies their
commitment to the world around them will soon have a new avenue for opportunities.
Catalysta, the brainchild of Edward Goldberg and a team of similarly motivated
professionals, is a multifaceted vehicle for exploring the world of socially responsible
careers. The Labor Day launch of the project’s website is being supported in advance
through social media channels such as Twitter and Facebook.

“Catalysta will be the forum for exploring and developing socially responsible careers,”
explained Catalysta’s founder and CEO Edward Goldberg, whose career includes 20
years in online and video production. “We aim to broaden the typical approach to social
responsibility and spark an exploration of how any and all careers can serve the
common good.”

The site is designed to present trailblazers from every field, both within and beyond the
world of nonprofits and environmental organizations. With three columns—Currents,
Paths and Interchange—the website’s content offers the expertise and insights of
contributors representing a wide range of professions. Catalysta welcomes the
participation of everyone who believes that it’s possible to integrate a sense of purpose
into earning a living.

The Facebook and Twitter marketing campaign will precede the launch of the site
beginning Monday, August 8, with postings such as: “What Does a Socially Responsible
Plumber Look Like? Release Your Inner Clogs” and “Just Do It? Nah. Do Something
That Means Something.” Entry-level jobseekers and seasoned professionals, wide-eyed
optimists and full-time cynics are invited to enjoy Catalysta.org.

“After five years of development and planning, we’re excited to share phase one of
Catalysta with those who share our passion for a meaningful career,” said Goldberg.
