The first part of this route takes you to the peak “Mont da
li Resa” at 2858 m.s.l. From here one can enjoy a breathta-
king view of Livigno and the surrounding mountains.
The Val Nera Glacier and the peaks of the Paradisin, Ortles,
Cevedale and Bernina ranges can also be seen from this
point. Near to the top one can also admire a statue of the
Virgin Mary who seems to protect the village. Nearby one
can find the “’Involt de li Resa” a bivouac shelter entirely
built in stone. The route is perfectly marked out and it is
suitable for well-equipped trekkers.
Whilst walking it is possible to see numerous chamoises,
ibexes and sometimes even eagles and lammergeyers.

Val Federia - Calcheira
This long and pleasant descent through the Val Federia can
be enjoyed both on foot and by mountain bike. From the
mountain hut Carosello 3000, one need to follow the easy
dirt road leading to the “Laghet” (Lac Salin) and then pro-
ceed towards the valley on a well-marked path which cros-
ses the typical Alpine fields, rich in flowers and plants to
the the Cheseira da Fedaria. From here, one shall follow the
road which crosses theVal Federia. Near the “Fontanon”we
advise to take a path which leads to the “Bocheta da Cascia-
na” and then through a mountain pine wood to the typical
huts of the Val Federia. From here one will then be able to
enjoy the beauty of Alpine fields and forests which conti-
nues up to the arrival point: Ponte Calcheira, just a steps
away from the bus stop (Parking P3).

This is an simple and entirely downhill path suitable for
both bikers and hikers.
Starting from the mountain hut Carosello 3000 one can ea-
sily descend on a dirt road crossing the Alpine pastures up
to a deviation leading to the Plan da la Montanela.
From here the path descends through fields and glades
down to a wood of larches and another dirt road which le-
ads to the start station Carosello 3000.

This path is suitable for both trekkers and bikers. The route
is comfortable and slightly descendant and offers breathta-
king views on the valley of Livigno. After tackling a short
initial climb one reaches the Plan da la Montanela where it
is possible to watch marmots. Shortly after one arrives to the
Carosello 3000 dirt road which can be followed down to the
Carosello 3000 middle station.

This path is great for a simple excursion. Since the route
is entirely downhill, a good pair of trekking shoes is highly
recommended. From the mountain hut Costaccia, one
needs to follow the easy and well-marked path to the Crosc
da Valandrea, from where you can enjoy a wonderful view
of Livigno. Once here, you simply need to follow the route
towards the village, crossing a beautiful stone pine wood
to the glade Plan da la Golp and then onwards through a
centuries-old larches wood to the middle station of lift “Li-
vigno Centro – Costaccia”.

This is a very easy path, suitable for everyone.
The first part of this route follows a dirt road descending
towards the valley which then continues plainly along
the “Troi da li Tea” where one can admire the typical Alpine
landscape with the traditional mountain huts scattered

This is a short and easy walk, suitable for everyone: hikers
and bikers. The route is well marked out and follows the
natural ridge which separates the Federia Valley from the
Livigno Valley. From the highest point – at 2778 m.s.l.- one
can enjoy a unique view of the surrounding mountains (i.e.
Ortles Cevedale, Cima Piazzi). Noteworthy is the Bernina
Range with its “Piz Bernina”, the only four thousand-metre
peak in the Central Alps.

“ Do you want to maintain a trained body?
On the Carosello 3000 – Costaccia mountain ridge
(in both directions), you will find a clearly signposted track
where you can perform physical exercise whilst enjoying the
beautiful views across the whole valley.
Every Monday, Carosello 3000 offers a free guided excursion to
the‘Madonna del Soccorso’(red track overleaf until the‘involt da
li Resa’). A medium-easy level hike in which you can enjoy one of
the most spectacular views over Livigno’s valley.
Excursion program:
9-10 am: Meeting point at the bottom of the Carosello 3000
cableway.
10.30 am: Departure from the Mountain Hut Carosello 3000.
1 pm: Return to the Mountain Hut Carosello 3000.
