Mercurial: Modern Source Control ManagementJohn Paulett
The document discusses Mercurial, an open source distributed version control system. It describes some shortcomings of CVS like network connectivity requirements and expensive branch operations. As alternatives to CVS, it mentions Subversion, Git, and Mercurial. Mercurial allows for complete local repositories with trivial branching and merging. The document provides steps for creating and working with a Mercurial repository locally and remotely.
A presentation on distributed version controlling with Mercurial. starts with some introduction on the concept of distributed version controlling and then guidance tp choose best version controlling system out of available tools.
The document provides information about gardening tasks for the month of July in Southern California. Some key points:
- July marks the end of the spring bloom season and the beginning of the hot, dry summer season.
- Common gardening tasks in July include evaluating what worked/didn't work in the spring, planning for next season, and harvesting summer vegetables and fruits as they ripen.
- Weather is hot and dry with little rainfall. Native plants transition to their summer dormancy and watering needs increase for other plants.
This document provides an overview of version control systems including Mercurial and Git. It describes the basic commands and workflows for these distributed version control systems. Key features covered include initializing repositories, cloning, committing, branching, merging, resolving conflicts and using remote repositories over HTTP or SSH. The document also lists configuration files and public hosting services for these tools.
Version Control Systems - ArabNet Beirut 2014 - Dani ArnaoutDani Arnaout
This is the presentation that was given at ArabNet Beirut 2014. It cover some basic & intermediate info about Version Control Systems in a simple & special way.
It includes lots of images & just few text, so you won't be able to fully understand what's going on unless you watched the talk.
Will add a link to the talk once it becomes available.
This document introduces the Mercurial source control management system. It summarizes Mercurial as fast, simple, and distributed. It then provides more details about the key concepts in Mercurial including repositories, changesets, and the working directory. Mercurial aims to be easy to understand, help users work together efficiently, and let users work efficiently. It accomplishes this through lightweight local repositories, fast operations, symmetric sharing of changes, and space-efficient storage of project history.
This document discusses key concepts and workflows in version control systems including cloning repositories, commits, branches, merging, tagging, pushing and pulling changes. It explains how to use branches to develop features in parallel, merge changes between branches, and switch between branches when making small experimental changes.

The document provides an overview of Mercurial version control system concepts and commands. It discusses the .hgrc configuration file, imagining Mercurial as a stack of patches with downward links, basic commands like add, commit, log and diff, branching and updating branches, and pushing and pulling changes between repositories. Key points covered include using .hgrc for usernames, extensions, and aliases, visualizing the commit history as a stack of patches, and the relationship between commits, branches, and unique identifiers.
Introduction to Distributed Version Control System with Mercurial / TortoiseHgEng Chin Gan
This is a presentation that I made for Experian Tech Talk in August 2012. It covers basic introduction to DVCS using Mercurial / TortoiseHg as example.
Mercurial is a distributed version control system (DVCS) where each developer's working copy of a project is also a repository. This allows developers to work independently of a central server and easily share changes. Key features include fast branching and merging, extensibility through plugins, and distributed collaboration through pushing and pulling changes between repositories. While more complex initially than centralized systems like Subversion, DVCS provides advantages for sharing work and flexible workflows.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375
