Freelance / 18 Months / Design Team of Two
Wisbey’s is a family business set to compete in the food recipe delivery
market, worth £7.36 Billion, with a unique USP of being the first premium

competition. At the end of the competition, the project continued into a
part time freelance role alongside my final year studies.
This project was my first step into freelance client work - through learning by
failure, I was able to develop my commercial design skills, generating client
proposals, client communication/ feedback skills, business basics.
Wisbey’s is still in operation with the hope of coming to market in 2020

At Walton Designs, I was a member of a two man design team, designing and

process.
This includes conducting initial client meetings and idea generation sketches, to
the ordering, and organisation of pre production samples, through to seeing my
design on the shelves of some of the largest highstreet stores.

The Puzzle of
Fine Dining
Self Lead Project / 6 Months / Sall Team
What if the tableware became its own experience alongside the currently
celebrated experience of the food, restaurant space, and chiefs?
Within this project I explored the interaction between user and the fine dining
space, identifying table wear as an untapped experience worth exploring.
In this project I was hands on with the making process, Learning new skills in
mould making and metal working.
skills shown
Product Design. User Experience. Prototyping. Metal Casting.
The fine dining experience encompases the space, furniture, chiefs, food
layout and taste bud interaction -
The shape of cutlery would become sleeker, more ergonomic, less
ergonomic to suit a ‘style’ of the restaurant, yet it would rarely move
from the classic table layout.
Why is the tableware not treated with this same ‘art’
pedestal?
“Chiefs are the new rockstars and Food is their music”.
Yet the tableware is still on the same traditional layout.

In my mission to form an engaging tableware experience, I decided to take inspiration from:
The end result was a disassembling experience alongside
your eating courses, that would promote Interaction,
table discussion, and food appreciation.
