4. So, what is an ion?
An ion is an atom or molecule in which the total
number of electrons are not equal to total
number of protons, giving it a positive or negative
electrical charge.
Thus, there are two types of ions:
Anion – negatively charged ion.
Cation – positively charged ion.

5. How are negative ions generated?
Nature generates the negative ions by:
Lighting storms
Sun light, Radiation
Moving air or moving water (waves,
