The document is about separating and recycling materials. On Friday, some friends from Valencia will come to tell the class a story about recycling. In the story, things got very sad when materials were mixed together because each wanted to go to its own container. The class will sit in a big circle to hear the story told by the friends. Since the containers would not fit in the school, they will have to imagine them. The class will listen carefully and learn that plastics, cans and bricks go in the yellow container, paper and cardboard in the blue, and glass in the green.
This week was very special as on Thursday the students met their godparents for the 2nd grade class who will help them learn to read, because some of the godparents and some of the students already know how to read quite well!
The students have been learning about the human body this week. They started with the skeleton, learning about the cranium which protects the brain. Classmates brought games to help learn the body parts. The students also learned about the vertebrae that make up the spine and allow standing and movement. To view bones, special x-ray photos called radiographs are used. Some students brought radiographs of themselves or family members to class. A classmate even brought a video of an ultrasound where they could see the skeleton inside his mother's stomach.
