Jesus shed his blood and died on the cross to pay the debt for our sins, which we could not pay ourselves. Through his blood sacrifice we have been made holy, clean, and free to enter God's presence. The blood of Christ draws us near to God and reminds him that through Jesus' sacrifice, we are free from the punishment of sin.
