7. Tips for Baby Hair & Skin
 Bathing your babies sensitive skin correctly is important. 2 or 3 bathsa week is
recommended. Bathing more then 3 times a week will cause your baby’s skin to
become dry.
 Keeping you baby warm while you baththem is important. Be sureto set the house
temperatureto 75-degreesF
 Bath your baby with a soft sponge or cloth,be sure thatthe water is warm (not hot).
 When bathing your baby gather the suppliesneeded before hand.Althoughthe
water is only 2 to 3 inches deep, do notleave your baby alone to go gather items with
your baby in the tube.
 Always wash you baby front to back andwash their bottoms last.
 Yourbaby’s scalp andskin is very sensitive. Be sure to wash clothing(even new
clothing)before placing them on your baby.
 Cradlecap is normalfor newborns. Prior to bathing, massagea smallamountof oil
onto baby's scalp. Very gentlycontinue massaging scalpwith a soft, warm, damp
washclothto loosen dry skin andrelease flakes.
 When washing your baby’s hair, be sure to use a no tears wash & shampoo. Form
your hand into a cup and fill you hand with warm water. Gently pour the water over
your baby’s head, and place a dime size amount on your baby’s head. Rotate your
handgently in a circular motion on your baby’s head. Rinse and repeat if need.
 After bathing your baby, gentlymoisturize their skin.

Tips for Toddlers Hair & Skin
 Yourtoddler probably isn’t a fan of hair care. Make it easy by conditioning their hair

 Detangle your toddlerwhile they are in the tub. It’s likely that if he or she have bath
toys to distract while you detangle they may not put up a fuss.
