Over 60 million baby boomers in North America intend to continue working after retirement, with the top reason being to stay active. As fewer pension plans exist and retiree incomes are relatively low, many boomers will likely pursue new careers or start their own businesses to meet financial needs and find fulfillment. This growing number of post-retirement entrepreneurs and workers will create unprecedented demand for flexible jobs that allow corporations to not fully meet, leading more boomers to pursue entrepreneurship through consulting, business ownership, franchising, or investing in existing companies.
