The Asian Games is a multi-sport event held every four years involving athletes from all over Asia. The first Asian Games were called the Far Eastern Championship Games and were held in 1913 in Manila. Nine countries have hosted the Asian Games since the first edition in 1951 was held in New Delhi, India. The most recent 2018 Asian Games were hosted in Jakarta, Indonesia and involved over 10,000 athletes from 45 countries competing across 38 sports. The next Asian Games will be held in 2022 in Hangzhou, China.
