The Earth receives 174 petawatt (PW) of incoming solar radiation at the upper atmosphere. Approximately
30% is reflected back to space while the rest is absorbed by clouds, oceans and land masses. Photovoltaics
(PV) is a method of generating electrical power by converting solar radiation into direct current electricity
using semiconductors that exhibit the photovoltaic effect. PV is best known as a method for generating
electric power by using solar cells to convert energy from the sun into a flow of electrons. The photovoltaic
effect refers to photons of light exciting electrons into a higher state of energy, allowing them to act as
charge carriers for an electric current.
In the current financial year, we have installed & commissioned a combined total capacity of 160 KWp PV
modules (130 KWp at IP, Asaoti & 30 KWp at HTP, Taloja). At its peak load the plants will be able to
generate 216 MWh units in a year, thus offsetting 200 tons of carbon dioxide generation.

The Armenian Church of the Holy Nazareth is an Armenian Apostolic church that is located in the northwest corner of
Barabazar in the Greater Kolkata area, and is called "Mother Church of the Indian Armenians". It is possibly the oldest
church in the Kolkata area. It was built in 1724 by Agha Nazar after a fire destroyed the previous Armenian church
that was built on the land in 1688. To the first Armenians who settled in India, who were mostly traders, continuation
of tradition and preservation of religion were of the utmost importance. The Holy Nazareth structure is one of three
Armenian churches in Kolkata; the other two are Saint Mary's Church and the church of Saint Gregory the
Illuminator.
