Die casting is an efficient, economical, and
ultimately company- and customer-friendly process
of replacing assembly parts that are usually
produced via different manufacturing processes.
Because die casting allows for a solid, basic part
that just requires add-ons, it eliminates more
complex and oft-expensive machining and
assembly.

Aside from offering companies great savings for
labor and costs, the process likewise offers product
designs, trims, and parts with a greater aesthetic
value to complement a wide range of shapes and
components. Die casting requires high rates of
production, offering complex shapes that
essentially don’t entail machining.
The resulting products are of greater quality,
produced with thinner walls and offering more
room for the injection of plastic moldings than that
required by other casting methods. Also, the
process is cost-efficient, allowing for a great
number of identical castings before any tooling
becomes required.

Die casting permits the creation of various surface
and texture types, often smoother than other
casting methods such as sand casting and
permanent mold. They can also be easily plated or
finished with zinc.
Finally, die-cast products are monolithic, and its
alloys are highly resistant to corrosion. Die
castings come in one solid body, not consisting on
separate fastened or welded parts, thus adding to
their durability and strength.

Amorphous alloys refer to any metastable material that
doesn’t have the long-range order of conventional metals.
This means they do not have any grain boundary, crystal
segregation, nor defect. More importantly, they lack any
specific atomic configuration.

These alloys are part of the umbrella term “glassy metal”
or metallic glass. They are non-crystalline and don’t have
the arrangement of atoms of normal glasses like the ones
used for windows. Hence the term “amorphous,” without a
clearly defined shape or form.
Amorphous alloys are highly important in modern
manufacturing and many resulting infrastructure as they
are good conductors of electricity. They likewise display
higher resistance to corrosion and wear and offer great
tensile fatigue strength when compared to crystalline
alloys.
Some ways amorphous alloys are produced are through
physical vapor deposition, solid-state reaction, or rapid
cooling or quenching. Again, because of their amorphous
nature, these alloys have exceptional magnetic,
mechanical, and electromechanical properties, key to
cutting-edge applications in the industrial sector.

When cybercriminals steal healthcare information from
medical facilities or insurance companies, the data makes
its way to the deep web in the underground economy.
Those who do buy these information can commit acts of
fraud. How much are stolen data worth and how do
criminals use these information?

The most commonly sold item in terms of electronic
healthcare records is the insurance ID. Selling for as little
as $1 per ID, this gives criminals the ability to receive
medical care and order prescription drugs like oxytocin or
Ambien.
There are also comprehensive profiles that sell for $5 at
the minimum. This includes a patient’s name, Social
Security number, address, date of last medical visit,
appointment dates, health insurance ID numbers, and so
on. Some databases even sell other personal documents
like scans of driver’s license as part of the bundle. Of
course, this also raises the price of the item.
One of the most expensive items sold related to electronic
healthcare data are farmed identities. By using information
such as social security number, date of birth, educational
and employment records, health and car insurance, and
other forms of identification such as passports and
licenses, people can create new identities. The minimum
price of this item runs for about $1,000.

technology has revolutionized the tools and methods for
sanitizing instruments before surgical procedures,
converting surgery from a “risky art” to a dramatically life-

the surgeon in executing exact and precise operations.
A massive step for surgery, for example, was in April 2016
when cancer surgeon Shafi Ahmed performed an
operation using a virtual reality (VR) camera at the Royal
London Hospital. Today, everyone could participate in the
operation in real-time through a website and a VR app.
Medical students, journalists, or worried relatives can
follow through 360-degree cameras as the surgeon
removes a cancerous tissue from a patient.
Surgery has also become minimally invasive, improving
human health or disease diagnosis with as small incisions
and excisions as possible. Fiber optic threads have
brought brighter light into the deepest recesses of the
body, and later, tiny computer chip cameras started to
transmit images back out.

Complicated and risky surgeries need careful planning, so
these technologies greatly assist in performing surgical
practice and learning methods.
