The Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Trust has been trialling the Medi Shower unit at their Moseley Hall hospital site to reinforce their best practices for water hygiene management. Staff, patients, and the infection control team have provided positive feedback on the Medi Shower unit and there have been no issues identified during the trial. Based on the successful initial response, the Trust is looking to adopt the Medi Shower unit as their standard across applicable sites within the organization.

Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Trust take a proactive approach to managing water
hygiene on its sites, as such it is always looking to apply best practice to ensure the highest
possible standards.
Shower are long established as a high risk item in respect to water hygiene and as such we
have been undertaking a trial of the Medi Shower unit on our Moseley Hall hospital site during
2015. This was not as a reaction to positive sampling but as further reinforcement to our
system of water management.
The product has been favourably received by staff, patients and the control of infection team
and so far we have seen no drawbacks to using the product.
The colour coding of the inserts assist with staff awareness and engagement and is a clear
visual indicator that servicing work has been undertaken.
We will continue with the trial the showers and following the initial response are looking to
adopt this product as standard across the trusts sites where applicable.
