BECOMING TRANSFORMATIONAL A CONNELLY/YEATTS COACHING FOR PERFORMANCE PROGRAM
BECOMING TRANSFORMATIONAL Anything is possible if we can change.
If you wanted to change anything in your life or career… … WHERE WOULD YOU BEGIN? The question is not WHETHER you want to change, but HOW to change.
As humans, we do not change easily. In this session, we will IDENTIFY WHERE TRUE CHANGE BEGINS and EXAMINE THE FIVE SEQUENTIAL STEPS TO PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL TRANSFORMATION
ATTITUDE THINKING PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS BELIEFS To create transformational change, the steps above must be done in the right sequence. What order would you put them in? THINKING BELIEFS EXPECTATIONS ATTITUDE PERFORMANCE
5 SEQUENTIAL STEPS FOR A DIFFERENT OUTCOME
“ You are today where your thoughts have brought you; you will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you. If you do not like where you are going, change your thoughts .” – Unknown STEP #1: THINKING
What we believe is a direct result of what we think STEP #2: BELIEFS
STEP #3: EXPECTATIONS What we truly believe, we expect.
STEP #4: ATTITUDE The first outward evidence of what we think.
STEP #5: PERFORMANCE When performance is derived from our thoughts, we excel.
HOW DO WE CHANGE OUR THINKING? It may sound simple , but changing our thoughts is not a minor issue. Prevailing thoughts have a DNA , coming from an experience or an event in our lives. Above all, thoughts are made of words .
CHANGE YOUR WORDS CHANGE YOUR THOUGHTS Thoughts are a group of words that give life to a thinking pattern EXAMPLE: “I like these people. Now I am going to find out why.”
ASSIGNMENT FOR NEXT WEEK: Identify something you have tried to change in the past, but have not been able to. Identify the prevailing thought pattern preventing that change. Write out a new set of words to reflect a transformational thought pattern. Continue to meditate on that new thinking.
