The document presents the anatomical study of a newly identified fossil gymnospermous leaf, Gnetalophyllum deccanii, from the Deccan intertrappean beds in Mohgaonkalan, Madhya Pradesh, dating back to the Upper Cretaceous period. The leaf is characterized by its triangular shape, ridges and furrows, thick cuticular epidermis, undifferentiated mesophyll, and unique vascular arrangements. Comparative analysis suggests that this fossil exhibits close affinities with the family Gnetaceae but does not closely resemble any specific genera within that family.
