The document presents a study on the chemical composition and properties of kapardika bhasma, an Ayurvedic drug of marine origin, using modern analytical techniques such as EDX, SEM, IR, UV, XRD, and TG analysis. Four commercial samples were analyzed to standardize their composition and understand their medicinal properties. The findings indicate that kapardika bhasma primarily contains calcium carbonate along with some impurities and that its preparation involves traditional methods which may lead to varying chemical characteristics.
