This document discusses various methods for collecting demographic data, including population censuses, sample surveys, vital statistics registration, and administrative records. It describes how each method works, their advantages and limitations, and examples of their use in Bangladesh. The key points are that censuses aim to count the entire population but are infrequent, while surveys sample subsets of the population and are more cost-effective. Combining multiple data sources provides the most complete demographic picture. Accuracy depends on minimizing errors like undercoverage.

This document provides a review of national and state schemes for water and sanitation sector investment in India. It analyzes 17 centrally sponsored schemes related to water supply and sanitation. The review finds issues at both the national and state levels, including inefficient targeting of funds, an inefficient vehicle for fund transfers, poor monitoring and evaluation, and lack of alignment between central and state schemes. The document outlines key findings and recommendations to improve central sponsorship schemes for better service delivery outcomes.
This document contains two literature reviews related to the usage of technology in higher education. The first review examines a study on the adoption of educational technology ten years after strategic goals were set at a Canadian university. It found that while technology has potential to improve teaching, numerous barriers exist. The second review looks at a study on mega-universities and knowledge media strategies. It found that mega-universities are using technology to change systems and support students, representing a third generation of distance education beyond correspondence and multimedia. Both reviews discuss variables, research questions, methods, findings, and perceptions of limitations and strengths.
The document provides details on the methodology, design, and institutional arrangements for tracking expenditures of two rural development programs - Sampoorna Grameen Rozgar Yojana (SGRY) and Mid-Day Meals - in the Indian states of Rajasthan and West Bengal. It describes the objectives and components of the programs, as well as the process of allocating and transferring funds from central and state governments to local implementing bodies at district, block, and village levels. The transfer mechanisms for cash and foodgrain components of the programs differ between the two sample states.
This document summarizes the first 5 chapters of the book "How to Lie with Statistics" by Darrell Huff. In Chapter 1, it discusses how all statistics have some inherent sample bias. Chapter 2 talks about the different types of averages (arithmetic mean, median, mode) and how people use averages to mislead. Chapter 3 explains how sample size and data selection can be manipulated to prove desired results. Chapter 4 introduces the concepts of probable error and standard error in measurements. Chapter 5 warns about how graphs can be deliberately misleading by omitting or scaling axis labels.
The document provides a completion note for the Mumbai Urban Business Plan Phase II technical assistance project. Key points:
- The project provided advisory support to help Mumbai transform into a world-class city by addressing issues like congestion, scarce housing, and large slums.
- Over two phases, the assistance helped expand the plan's scope, clarify priorities, enhance consultation, and identify policy and investment needs.
- Outcomes included expanding decision-making bodies, increasing development limits, adopting new housing policies, and plans for infrastructure projects. However, proposed investment proposals were not implemented.

This document discusses productive skills in language teaching, which are speaking and writing. It covers structuring discourse, following sociocultural rules and turn-taking conventions, adapting to different styles and genres, interacting with an audience, and dealing with difficulties through improvising, discarding ideas, rephrasing, and foreignizing language. Productive skills are developed through reception and production activities where texts serve as models and stimuli. Challenges in language production can be addressed by matching tasks to students' levels, ensuring purpose, and not expecting instant fluency and creativity. Teachers can supply key language and plan activities in advance to help students achieve success. Varying topics, genres, and activating background knowledge can also help students engage with
The document discusses combustion in engines, defining combustion as an exothermic chemical reaction between a fuel (carbon) and oxidant (oxygen). It notes that complete and incomplete combustion can occur. Improvement in combustion can be achieved by maintaining the proper stoichiometric air to fuel ratio, ensuring proper mixing of air and fuel through turbulence and injection characteristics, and using techniques like EGR. The document focuses on defining combustion and factors that influence combustion efficiency in engines.
This document discusses neoliberalism in the health care system in Bangladesh. It explores how neoliberal principles of individualism, free market policies like privatization and deregulation, and decentralization have shaped public health in Bangladesh. It describes how the public health system has become commercialized under neoliberalism, with decreasing access to public facilities for the urban poor. Theories of neoliberal urban governance from scholars like David Harvey and Arjun Appadurai are discussed in the context of their application to the health care system in Bangladesh.
Sustainable development aims to meet human needs while preserving the environment for future generations. Bangladesh faces challenges of poverty but also has natural resources and a productive workforce. However, overdependence on natural resources can become a "resource curse" as seen in some oil-rich Middle Eastern nations, where wealth is concentrated and economic growth falters. Bangladesh is committed to sustainable development through policies, education programs, and balancing economic growth with environmental conservation.
A 46-year-old man collapsed while training for a marathon. Paramedics were unable to revive him and he was declared dead after 30 minutes of resuscitation efforts in the emergency department. The family informed the doctors that the deceased was a registered organ donor. However, because he did not die in the right way or location as outlined by policies, he could only be a tissue donor, not fulfill his wish to donate organs, leaving his family and those waiting for transplants distraught. The case highlights the complex ethical issues around defining death and the barriers created by policies that can prevent willing donors from donating.

Bị béo phì tiềm ẩn, béo bụng gây các bệnh mạn tính nguy hiểm
chuyên gia của chương trình "Tư vấn giảm cân an toàn".
giải mỡ trắng là 3 nguyên tắc vàng giảm cân an toàn.
