3. WHAT IS WATER
• It is an element made from Hydrogen & Oxygen.
• It is present in all 3 states –
Solid, Liquid, Gaseous.
• It is a natural resource.

4. WHY WE NEED WATER ?
• All living things – humans, animals, plants need water to live.
• 70% of our body is made of water.
• We need to drink fresh water to survive.
• Plants need water to grow.
• Water is very important in our day to day life for drinking, bathing, cooking, washing,
etc.
• Without water, the earth would be dry and plants, animals, and humans would not be
able to survive.
• Water is also required in many factories.

5. WHY DO WE NEED TO CONSERVE
WATER ?
• Our planet earth is covered with around 71%water. When seen from outer space, it appears blue
in colour.
• Only 3% of this water is fresh water. 2% fresh water is frozen. Less than 1% of this water is fresh
water available to us.
• Water pollution is a big problem.
• Less rainfall is taking place because of cutting of trees.
• Due to less water, many diseases are caused. Many people die due to no water available.
