7. 1878 The Austin Company, an engineering company, was incorporated in Cleveland (USA)
by Samuel Austin. The Austin Company, is owned by Kajuima Corporation one of the top 20
leading construction and engineering groups worldwide, with a consolidated turnover of USD 18.5
B, during 2012.
1966 – “Austin Italia” was incorporated to provide engineering services to the Austin
Company in Italy.
1995 – Austep S.p.A was incorporated as a “spinoff” from Austin Italia, to engineer and
construct the Fiumicino Airport, Rome.
1996 – The 1st waste water treatment plant (WWTP) was designed and constructed in a refinery
in Italy
1997 - The 1st WWTP was designed and constructed overseas
2005 - Change of ownership –March 4th, 2005, PhD. Massone together with a group of
investors, acquired 100% of Austep S.p.A.’ ownership rights, from “Austin Italia”. PhD. Massone
was appointed CEO of Austep S.p.A..

• The first Maintenance & Operation (M&O) contract was signed and implemented
• A 10,000 square feet new headquarter in Milan
2009 – The design & construction of an AD for plant in the largest slaughter house
in Europe based on:
• 100% built, owned & operated (BOO) by Austep S.p.A.
• A “buy back” option was negotiated with the Slaughter house company
2010
• Going Global - Design & engineering of a 7Mw plant in Belgium
2011
• The Slaughter house company exercised its “buy back option”
• Austep won a public tender for the first S. Korean slaughterhouse waste plant
• The 1st OFSW (segregated MSW) plant was designed and constructed in nearby Milan
• a biogas & composting solution based on OFSW
• A prototype model of the Tornado was installed

11. Management and Ownership
Alessandro Massone Ph.D. CEO of Austep Group, and a major shareholder
of Austep SpA. He holds a Doctorate degree from Ghent University, Belgium, in
Nitrification and Biogas. PhD. Massone also graduated with a Civil Engineer degree
from the Milan Polytechnic.
PhD. Massone, acquired Austep SpA at the beginning of 2005, from the Austin
Company, and he developed the company from a waste water solution provider
to an A-Z comprehensive solution provider for AD plants.

Prof. Willy Verstraete Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Austep
SpA graduated in 1968 from the Ghent University as bio-engineer. In 1971, he
obtained a PhD degree in microbiology at the Cornell University, Ithaca (USA).
Since October 2011, he is serving as an emeritus professor in Ghent University.
Prof. Verstraete is acting as the head of Supervisory board of the Austep, as well as
the head of the stirring committee.
Michele Lissoni, Commercial Manager, a board member, and a
shareholder of Austep SpA. He graduated with a Ph.D degree from Polytechnic
University in Milan in Environmental andTerritory Engineering.

Asnat Drouianov, Vice President of AUSTEP USA INC.
CPA (with a degree in Economics and Accounting from TA University, Israel). With more
than 18 years of experience in the capital market, and a former partner of PWC, Ms.
Drouianov is acting as the Vice President of AUSTEP USA INC and as VP for overseas
Subsidiaries and Global development.
From January 2009 and until July 2013, Ms. Drouianov has served as the General
Manager of a leading German AD technology provider listed in the Frankfurt stock
exchange market. Under her management the company has become into one of the
leading technology providers worldwide with approx. 450 projects built in different
countries, Ms. Drouianov has also been acting as the CEO of the investment subsidiary
of the Group focusing on developing and operating such plants in Europe.
Ms. Drouianov has joined Austep Group in September 2014, bringing more than 30
years of global business experience with her.
Randall Rose, Senior Project Director for AUSTEP, USA, INC/AUSPARK LLC. Manages
the design, construction and operation of two Waste-to-Energy Biogas facilities; one in
Charlotte, NC (5.2 MW) and one in Johnston City, RI (3.2 MW). Coordinates designs and
constructs activities for each project, with the Italian staff of engineers, US third-party
engineers, US contractors, plus local municipal, and state government officials.
He graduated from Washington University in St. Louis Missouri with a degree in Civil
Engineering and his experience in construction takes over 40 years (among others:
construction projects covering public infrastructure, commercial, tall structures,
and industry). In addition his experience includes work through out the United States,
West Africa, and Israel.
