Helen Peterson, a lifeguard for Scarborough RNLI, provides a summary of incidents over the busy summer season on Scarborough, Whitby and Filey beaches. At Filey, a two-year-old girl fell from the promenade onto the beach and suffered a head injury, but thanks to quick treatment from lifeguards Anna Quick, Ollie Jones and Ali Nunn, her injuries were not too severe and she has since been released from the hospital. Both Scarborough beaches have also had several missing children cases this summer, but the lifeguards were able to quickly reunite all the missing children with their parents.
