Carlow County Council in Ireland installed its first Asterisk PBX system in 2008 using an old server and Polycom handsets, growing to support 120 extensions across several county buildings by 2011. They aim to replace their remaining Nortel PBX with a complete Asterisk solution for its reliability, cost-effectiveness, and additional features, completing the rollout before the end of April 2011.
