Team 25656 was assigned to look at bread in a new way and create as much value as possible from one loaf of miche bread. The team members, Alicia Heras Moreno from Madrid, Spain and Pam Payne from Virginia, USA, brainstormed independently due to time zone constraints and then combined their ideas. They came up with both conventional uses for the bread such as bread bowls, serving bowls, and sandwiches as well as more creative uses including decorating the bread to express emotions, and repurposing pieces as a doorstop, jewelry, shoes and flower pots.

4. Our team made the decision to select a type
of bread and see what we could come up with
on our own and then combine the results
because of time zone constraints.
We chose to use a “miche” bread which is
French for “ball” referring to a round loaf of
white bread.
