The research I am going to share with you this morning critically examines the idea of “grit” and its application to community college students, a population that is very diverse and a sector that has seen a concentration of attention on improving student outcomes.
Ice skating has been around for thousands of years. It has overcome diversity, politics, and countless injuries. Yet there still is a common product since the beginning of it all; passion. Aurora Abraham is the perfect example. Aurora is always on the go and constantly training. Forest Trail Academy has allowed her to be able to skate on higher levels. Maybe even the greatest luxury of FTA is having the aid of taking her school with her - no matter where she is. Aurora and her family were kind enough to answer a few questions about FTA and Aurora.
2. Background Information I went to North Scott High School in Eldridge, Iowa. I graduated from there in 2008. My school had 1200 students in it. My home town is a very small town of 400. There were 5 towns that made up my high school. There are 5 members in my family. My mom is Jodi, my dad is Scott and my two brothers are Austin and Brandon. Austin is a Junior in High School and Brandon is a Freshman in High School.
3. Life at WIU I am a Junior at Western. My major is Elementary Education. I don’t belong to any clubs or organizations right now. I only work while I am at home. There, I work at Red Robin and Hy-Vee.
4. Teaching Experience During High School, while I took lessons from my dance studio I also helped teach the young classes. I got to experience what it was like to teach dance and interact with a lot of young children. Source: Microsoft Office Clipart
