Poet Kicks off Andalusia’s Lectures Series
MILLEDGEIVLLE, Ga. – Accomplished author and poet David Huddle will entertain audiences
by reading at the house of beloved novelist Flannery O’Connor on Feb. 2 at 3 p.m.
Every Sunday in month of February, the Andalusia Foundation invites experts from
different walks of life to give a lecture. On the first Sunday of February, Huddle will read his
poems and writings. After his lecture, there will be a light reception in the dining room.
For the next the three Sundays, the speakers are as follows:
 Feb. 9 – John Kay from the Byron Herbert Reece Society and the Reece Farm site in
Blairsville, Ga.
 Feb. 16 – Professor Pamela Gore, a scientist with a new book, will be lecturing on her
research on hurricanes and climate change. She is from Georgia Perimeter College in
Dekalb County, Ga.
 Feb. 23 – Sophia Sineath of the Georgia Historical Society will be giving a talk on the
decision to make O’Connor the 2014 feature figure in the history festival.
The purpose of the lecture is to inspire, inform and communicate the past. With speakers that
are passionate and driven about their field of study, the February lecture series is sure to impress
those of all ages in the Milledgeville area.

The Flannery O’Connor - Andalusia Foundation is dedicated to the restoration,
preservation and appreciation of Andalusia. It is the final home of Flannery O'Connor in order to
perpetuate her place in the roster of great writers of the twentieth century.
