The American crocodile is a large crocodilian found in the Caribbean, Florida, and Central and South America. It can grow up to 23 feet long and weigh over 1,000 pounds. American crocodiles build nests of vegetation and eggs along riverbanks and coasts, and females guard the nests until the young hatch.
