The Amer Fort located 11 km from Jaipur was originally the capital of the state before Jaipur. It was built in 1592 by Raja Man Singh and served as the palace of the Kachhwaha rulers. The fort features pink sandstone and marble construction along with attractions like Diwan-i-Aam hall, Sheesh Mahal palace with mirror work, and Sukh Mahal palace. It has influences of both Hindu and Muslim architecture and provides scenic views of the Maotha Lake.
