Alina Bokovikova is a costume designer with over 15 years of experience in theatre, opera, dance, and film. She has designed costumes for numerous productions at theaters across California. Bokovikova also has experience teaching costume design, history, and construction at the university and community college levels. She holds an MFA in costume design from the University of California, San Diego and a master's degree in education from Novosibirsk Pedagogical University in Russia.

Developed curriculum for semester­long course for undergraduates, focusing on costume history
and fundamentals of costume construction.Lectured on topics including history, design theory,
rendering techniques, research methods, and costume shop organization.Guided students to
completion of complete costume design for a play, including research,renderings, swatches, and

Theater Process – Costume Design
Course Content: This introductory course gives wide range of costume history knowledge
interrelated with conceptual side of the costume design theory. Students explore design

Course Content: This course introduces students to the methodology behind tracking and
forecasting trends for the fashion and design industries. Students analyze key movements in
design and the wider cultural events influencing them from the late 19th Century through the 21st
to develop an understanding of what drives consumer behavior and how design professionals
track trends.
