The document watched a documentary called 'Airline' to gain inspiration for their own documentary. 'Airline' is part of a docusoap series that leaves viewers on cliffhangers and exaggerates customer experiences for entertainment. The purpose of 'Airline' was to inform viewers about the roles of airport staff and what happens at airports.

1. We looked at a few different documentaries before creating our own to gain inspiration and
knowledge on what appears in a documentary. We watched a documentary called ‘Airline’
and i am now going to write about what knowledge i gained from watching it!
We looked at the documentary 'Airline' for ideas on what real documentaries do, it is part of a
series like ours, and however theirs is a Docusoap, which often leaves viewers on a cliff-
hanger. Their documentary exaggerates customers live, but purely for the sake of
entertainment. The purpose of this documentary was to inform the public what happens in an
airport and the roles of the staff who work in Airports.
Camera:
They used the tripod for few shots of the airport, giving a feel to the scene that it is set in.
Most of the camera work was hand held, as it was from the public's point of view. Most
commonly used shots were medium close ups of the customers, to get a real feel for how they
are feeling. At the start of the documentary, a crane was used to take an establishing shot to
set the scene and to tell the audience where the documentary is going to be set and what will
appear throughout the documentary.

2. Use of Sound and Graphics:
The principal source of sound in the documentary was the narrator as a voice over, and the
airport sounds/dialogue from the customers. The voiceover led the viewers through the
scenes and explained what was going on. The only music used was the theme song at the
beginning and end of the program.
