Guru Gobind Singh, the 10th Sikh Guru, gave scientific teachings to the Khalsa about maintaining spiritual purity through practices like keeping uncut hair and wearing the 5 K's. He designed aspects of the Khalsa uniform, like the wooden comb, hair knot, underwear and sword, to support spiritual and physical well-being. Over time, more women have adopted the turban and other aspects of the Khalsa identity, resolving differences between male and female spirituality in the Western Sikh tradition.

Brogden utilized parent surveys to gather feedback and involve parents in leading school tours. Carrington implemented a summer bridge program to acclimate students to the larger middle school setting and collect diagnostic data. Both schools analyzed student performance data to identify at-risk students and inform intervention programs.
