2. What IS Ag Mechanics?
The introductory class in the Ag Mechanics Pathway.
The class gives students the opportunity to explore the Ag
Mechanics Industry
The purpose of the class is to give students the
opportunity to learn the necessary skills to enter Ag
Mechanics II
3. The grading policy:
ALL
Assignments/Projects
Will be turned in. End of story and discussion.
Turn them in early, you get some bonus points.
Turn them in late, the best grade you can get is a C.
You might as well get them in on time :P

What type of assignments will we be graded on?
Weekly Professional Portfolio
Timecards
Project Plans
Daily Warm-ups Project Construction
5. Your basic needs:
Pencils and graph paper for sketching projects/marking
materials
Safety glasses - to protect those eyes of yours
Appropriate clothing - Jeans, close-toed shoes, etc.
Tape measurer - for basic project layout
A combination square - for project layout
6. MAJOR Goals
Supply knowledge and skill required for entry into and
progress in Ag Mechanics occupations that do not require
post-secondary (college) education.
Prepare students for post-secondary level education in Ag
Mechanics.
Assist students in making informed career choices in the
field of Ag Mechanics.
7. By the end of the course, you should master these skills:
Measurements Common tool ID
Shop Safety Small project construction
Reading and designing small project plans
8. By the end of the course, you will be introduced to these
skills, but you need not master them:
Record keeping Cold metal work
Plumbing
Electrical
Arc welding Carpentry
Gas welding and cutting
9. Parting Thoughts:
REMEMBER, professional points will be awarded in Ag
Mechanics. Get your projects in on time, answer e-mails,
and come to school ready to work!
If you don’t come to Ag Mechanics dressed appropriately,
you will not participate. Shop safety is the most
important.
Show up ready to work and this will be a great year!
