AESOP Signature Store
Montmartre, Paris
By: Zayikia Hill
Bonne journée!
I am having such a wonderful time here in France, I traveled by metro
to Abbesses and was in the heart of Montmartre where the signature
store, Aesop rue des Abbesses, is located nearby. I was so delighted with
the architecture and culture, I stayed the entire day. Montmartre has a
village-like atmosphere and cobblestone streets reminiscent of Chelsea
in New York, except with narrow alleys and grand monuments. I was
fortunate to visit, Espace Dalí Montmartre, featuring over 300 original
works of Dalí. Shortly after I grabbed some crepes and a glass of wine
in Place du Tertre, where I discovered a mix of locals, tourist and street
artist. I strolled through and admired the colorful canvases, even
stopping to get my portrait painted. I also discovered Fêtes des
vendanges de Montmartre, an annual October celebration where the
locals come together – markets, restaurants, bookshops, cinemas,
theatres and even schools – to celebrate the timeless grapes produced.
There is so much more to see I can’t wait till tomorrow to return.
Montmartre is the art district of Paris and the most photogenic place
I’ve ever visited!
à bientôt!,
