Breaking Down the ADA
The ADA is composed of 5 Titles:

❏ Miscellaneous Provisions
Title 1—Employment
 No Discrimination
 Appropriate Accommodation
 Undue Burden
Title 2—Public Services
Subtitle A: State and Local Government Activities
❏ Access to government programs, services, and
activities
❏ Redesigning Inaccessible Buildings
❏ Communicating effectively: Visual, Hearing, Speech
disabilities
❏ Modifications must be made to policies and
practices
❏Unless alterations would change the nature of the
policy or practice
Title 2—Public Services
Subtitle B: Public Transportation
❏ Access to public
transportation services
❏ Bus and rail transit
❏ New accessible vehicles
❏ Redesign old vehicles
