This document outlines an activity to help students record and assess their heart rate data before, during, and after physical exercise. The objectives are for students to track their resting heart rate, training heart rate, and intensity in a log. Students will use a provided template to record the time spent on an activity, and their heart rate and perceived exertion both before and after exercises they do in PE class or otherwise. Keeping this heart rate log is meant to help students understand how fitness affects their body and allows them to influence others in society.
