BIRDING IN KAMPALA-MABIRA FOREST-LAKE MBURO
NATIONAL PARK 7DAYS
Day 1 - Uganda wildlife education Center and
Botanical gardens:
After an early breakfast as our Driver guide
will pick you up from your hotel of
accommodation drive to
Entebbe, The Uganda
Wildlife Education center
(UWEC) formerly known as
the Zoo. This has over
170 species of wild birds
like different species of
Weavers such as the rare
Northern Masked Weaver, Golden Backed,
African paradise, Baglafect Northern Brown
Throated, Grosbeak, Black Necked and many
others, flycatchers, Red bellied, Crested
shrike flycatcher, Raptors such as the Gabar
Goshawk, small banded snake Eagle, Shikra,
African Goshawk, African Fish Eagle, African
Hobby and many more species including
captive animals. Proceed to Botanical

gardens for another birding experience. Have
lunch relax as you move forward to the
evening visit to the sewage lagoons.
Dinner and Overnight at Imperial Resort

Day 2 - The Heritage Trail:
Have an early morning cup of tea/coffee then
transfer to the Heritage trail. Here is

Day 3 Canoe Ride on the Mabamba Swamp area.
After an early morning cup of coffee, visit
Mabamba village and its adjacent swamps

route to Kampala stop by another swamp this
may reveal Papyrus Gonolek, White winged
Warbler, Yellow Crowned Bishop, Weyns
Weaver, and many more. Have lunch on the way

Day 4 Transfer to Mabira Forest – Kampala:
Set off to Mabira forest after our early
morning breakfast. This is one of the
rainforest to view Yellow
whiskered Greenbul, Leaf
love, Toro Greenbul, Buff
spotted Woodpecker, Grey
spotted Woodpecker, White
spotted Fluff tail, Red
headed Blue Bill, Yellow
spotted Barbet, Grey
throated Barbet, Forest Robin, Yellow Rumped

Blue Breasted Kingfisher, African Pygmy,

Shining blue, Woodland Kingfishers, Banded
Wattle Eye ,Red tailed Ant Thrush, Chin spot
Batis, , Brown capped ,Chestnut Wattle Eye,
Yellow mantled, Black Billed, Weyn's
Weavers, Violet backed Starling, Red headed
Malimbe, Purple headed Starling, and many
more attractive species. Have a picnic lunch
and continue birding the evening.
Return to Kampala, having Dinner and
Overnight at Imperial Royale (luxury), Grand
Imperial hotel (mid range), Namirembe guest

Day 5 Transfer to Lake Mburo National park
and Game drive along the Zebra tracks
Have an early morning breakfast and transfer
to Lake Mburo National park “the Zebra
magnet”. It's a 4 hours drive from Kampala.
The park is situated in
western Uganda. Briefly
stop at the equator,
proceed to Lake Mburo,
birding to the entrance of
Nshara gate with the main
purpose is to search for
the great Sheobill stork.
Expect the following Common Scimitarbill,
species; Emerald Spotted Wood Dove, Bare
faced Go-Away Bird, Crested Francolin, Green
Wood Hoopoe, Lilac breasted Roller, Spot-
Flanked Barbet Northern Black Tit, Common
Scimitarbill, Trilling Cisticola, Greater
Blue Eared Starling, African Grey Hornbill,

Brown Parrot may be seen. Take lunch at
Rwonyo Restaurant. After lunch, embark on
late afternoon game drive along the Zebra
Track which may expose you to species like
Coqui Francolin, Black Bellied Bustard,
Temmricks Courser, African Wattled Plover,
Rufous napped Rufous, Chested Swallow and
Flappet Lark, etc. Look out also for evasive
Leopard and other nocturnal species. Dinner
and Overnight at mantana tented camp
(luxury), Rwonyo camp site (budget).
Day 6 Nature Walk and Game drive along the
Kigambira Loop
Early morning walk or game drive, get up
early focusing on another great piece of
action with a lot of experience. You will
encounter several
species of wetland and
savanna species of
birds, Impalas among
others. Return for
lunch head for evening
game drive along the
Kigambira loop. Species to expect are;
localized Red Faced Barbet, Red Headed
lovebird, Black Collared Barbet, Green
capped Eremomela and Lead colored
Flycatcher. Dinner and Overnight at mantana
tented camp (luxury), Rwonyo camp site
(budget).

Day 7 Game drive along the Lakeside track
and Return to Kampala
Set off for an early morning game drive
along the Lakeside Track. This entails
approach to Aquatic
habitats around Lake
Mburo. Species to expect
may include, White
Winged Warbler, Papyrus
Gonolek, Papyrus Yellow
Warbler, Lesser and
Greater Swamp Warbler
and also the elusive Shoebill, the Blue
headed Coucal. Continue to the lakeside
campground, as we look out for the African
Darter, African Water Rail, African Fin
foot, Spur winged plovers, and many others.
Return midmorning for breakfast and proceed
for a launch- cruise in search for papyrus
species not to miss them out, as well as
Hippos, Crocodiles as the extras expected.
Drive back to Kampala as we continue paying
our honor to the roadside, lunching en route
arriving early evening.

7DAYS RWANDA-UGANDA GORILLA TOUR.
Day 1: City Tour:
On arrival, depending on your flight,you
will be met by a representative from Access
Uganda Tours ltd who will transfer you to
Uganda’s capital Kampala embark on the city
tour and visit prominent places like:
Namugongo matyres shrine, Bahai temple,
Uganda Museum, Makerere University, Kasubi
tombs, Iteso cultural dance near Kasubi,
Namirembe and Rubaga cathedral, Kabaka's
lake, shopping arcades in town and craft
shops including National theatre. Dinner and
overnight stay at your Hotel of a good
standing

Day 2: Kampala - Bwindi
Wake up early in the morning for the break
fast as you will be met by your Driver guide
and set off from Kampala to Bwindi on the
western side of Uganda and have a stopover
at the equator for photographs, Proceed to
Bwindi via Mbarara with en-route lunch and
then proceed to Bwindi. Arrive at Bwindi
National Park in the late evening. Dinner
and over night at the luxurious Gorilla
Resort Camp (High-end), Trekkers Tervan
Cottages (Mid range)/Basic Buhoma community
bandas
Day 3: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi:
Take breakfast at 7:00am, before setting off
for your gorilla trekking adventure with a
briefing at the trekking
centre by specialized
knowledgeable UWA
rangers. As we will be
concentrating more on
Gorillas, we can also see other primates

like Columbus Monkey mention but a few as
Birders as well enjoy different birds
species and butterfly species. Lunch, Dinner
and overnight at your lodge
Day 4: Cross to Rwanda:
After breakfast, drive to Kisoro and cross
the Rwandan Border to Ruhengeri. Dinner and
over night at mountain Gorilla Nest or
Kinigi guest House
Day 5: Gorilla Tracking in Parc National des
Volcanoes (PNV:
Get an early briefing from the Park
officials at Ruhengeri Park headquarters in
Pac de volcanoes. The
time spent trekking
depends on the movement
of these wonderful
giants. After the trek

drive back to Uganda, Dinner and Overnight
at Kabale White Horse inn
Day 6: Game Viewing in Lake Mburo NP:
We leave after an early breakfast, start the
drive towards Lake Mburo National Park and
enter the Park through
the Nshara Gate
reaching at early
afternoon, have lunch
and some relaxing
before we go for late
afternoon game drive will take you along the
lakeshore track, and with its own system of
game trails and cleared walkways, the
"Kigambara Loop" offers interesting guided
lakeside walks. Here you can find herds of
zebra, cape buffalo and eland, and oribi and
topi are easy to approach. Along with the
game drive, many visitors also enjoy a boat
trip on Lake Mburo and self-guided nature
trails. Bird watchers will enjoy more than
250 species of birds found in Lake Mburo

After the activities in the park drive to
Masaka for your dinner and over night at
Brovad Hotel
Day 7: Equator, Royal Drum Makers, Entebbe:
After early breakfasts drive back to Kampala
stops at the Mpigi Royal Drum Makers, here
you will be able to watch the ceremonial
drums being crafted
using methods passed
down through
generations. There will
also be time to stop at
the equator for photographs and you will
arrive in Kampala by mid day. Be transferred
to the airport for your flight as we mark
the end of our 7 days safari. Have a safe
journey as we wish to host you once again.

5 DAYS PRIMATE SAFARI (BWINDI AND KIBALE
FOREST)
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi:
Leave Kampala in the morning after breakfast
and be ready for a long journey drive to
Bwindi Impenetrable
Forest. This journey will
take you south west of
Uganda with a stopover at
the equator for
photographs and continue
to Mbarara where you will
have lunch, proceed to
reach Bwindi in the late
afternoon. In the evening you may go for a
community walk where you will be entertained
in some of the cultural dance of the
community. Dinner and overnight at the
Gorilla resort / Buhoma community Bandas
Day 2: Gorilla tracking:

Leave your lodge early to the park
headquarters for briefing by a ranger guide,
enter into the Gorilla
Sanctuary for your
adventure also referred
to the “highlight of the
safari” as you closely
view our closest
cousins. The steeply
forested landscape is
incredibly dense but criss-crossed by
numerous animal trails allowing access to
tourists other Mammals can also be seen in
the forest like rare golden monkey, buffalo,
elephant, black fronted duiker, bushbuck,
leopard and many others. The park is known
for its fascinating gorillas. The time taken
and the terrain vary according to the
movements of these marvelous primates. The
thrill of spending time and observing the
gorillas is a rare moving, awesome and
exciting adventure. Dinner and overnight at
Gorilla Resort /Buhoma Community bandas
Day 3: Enroute to Kibale Forest:
Transfer to Fort portal from Bwindi Forest
after breakfast, have lunch enroute and
reaching Kibale forest
national park in the early
afternoon take some rest
before we go for an
evening swamp walk in the
Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary

to view the birds and monkeys that inhabit
the swamp. Dinner and overnight at Ndali
lodge, Rwenzori View Guest house / Primate

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking:
Starting the day early with breakfast and
drive to the park headquarters for the
chimpanzee briefing by the UWA guide, you
will enter to the
jungle to trek the
chimps they are easily
located by listening
for their pant-hooting
calls, we will also
encouter other
primates like the
Black and White Colobus monkeys, Black faced
Red Colobus, Red Tailed Monkeys, Olive
Baboons and an incredible array of bird
life, including the Great Blue Turaco.

Day 5: Return to Kampala
At your lodge you will be served with early
morning breakfast as you are preparing to
head back to Kampala reaching at the
afternoon marking the end of our 5 day trip.

MURCHISON FALLS AND MBURO TOUR SAFARI 5 DAYS
Day 1 – to Murchison falls from Kampala and
Top of the falls:
Drive to Murchison falls national park after
an early morning breakfast passing through
the famous Luwero
triangle, Masindi,
Budongo forest on the
western arm of the Great
Rift Valley arriving the
park in the afternoon
have lunch at the lodge.
When done with lunch,
drive to the top of the falls where the Nile
perfects its magnificence. Here you will see
the calm Nile plunging its self through a
narrow gorge to fall a gap of about 150 ft
down churning out a deafening roar of white
water- far-fetched scenery! Dinner and
overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge / Nile
Safari Camp(luxury), Red chill Camp (budget).

Day 2 – Morning Game Drive and Nile Launch
Cruise:
Have an early warm up cup of tea/coffee
before setting off for an early morning game
drive in the northern part of Murchison
falls National Park rewarding you with
encounters of game
like, hyenas,
leopards, jackals,
lions, buffaloes,
Uganda Kob ,
elephants, and many
more savannah wild
life species as we
continue browsing the drive to the Delta
point for great bird and animal species.
Return for a relaxed lunch. In the
afternoon, go for the Boat cruise or launch
cruise along the Victoria Nile. This takes
you to the bottom of the falls and it will
provide an opening to view some of the water
animals like the crocodiles, buffaloes,
hippos and plenty of birds. Retire for
dinner and over night at the lodge of your
budget.
Day 3 - Transfer to L.mburo Park and Evening
boat cruise

Have an early transfer after Breakfast to L.
Mburo NP. The Park contains a variety of
attractions; it is dominated by extensive
wetlands, rolling grassy hills, seasonal and
permanent swamps, wooden
savannah, and forests,
which harbors a variety
of plants and animal
species. It is because
of these diverse
ecosystems that render
the park to be called
“zebra magnet” its rich
in bio diversity like Zebras, Elands, and
Buffaloes, Impalas, Roam Antelopes,
Leopards, Hyenas, Hippos, Bush bucks, and
Klipspringer. The presence of the Lake
within the park enables visitors to take a
boat ride do sport fishing and see the
Crocodiles, Pelicans, Shoebill stork,
Hippos, Cormorants, Fish eagles, and a lot
more. After lunch have a game drive in the
park. Dinner and Overnight Mantana luxury

Day 4 – Morning game drive and boat cruise
Get up for an early morning game drive in
search for different
animal species like
the most popular
zebras, Elands, and
Buffaloes, Impalas,

lodge for your lunch and little relaxing.
After and short relaxing and lunch, we
proceed for a boat trip inside Lake Mburo
where you enjoy the cold breeze of the
swamp, view the landscape of the vast
savannah dotted with acacia and shrubs, wet
land papyrus and see for yourself the a wide
range of water animal and bird species

Day 5 – Morning game drives and Transfer to
Kampala
After early breakfast, set off for an early
morning game drive to visit hyenas den, a
wonderful encounter with the Zebras,
Waterbucks, Buffaloes,
Topis, Elands, Leopards
in their day break jungle
life and a variety of
bird species .After the
game drive Head to
Kampala having a stop
along the way by the
famous Mabamba Swamp for the Prehistoric
Great Shoe bill Stork, the swamp is also a
host of many water birds! After hopefully
spotting this fascinating bird continue on

to Kampala lunch en route, and you will
arrive in Kampala by early evening.
