This document outlines a lesson plan for teaching 11th grade students three methods for solving quadratic equations: factoring, the quadratic formula, and completing the square. Students will learn the methods through videos, posters, online activities, generating their own equations, and social media. By the end of the week, students should be able to identify quadratic equations and solve them using all three taught methods.
1. Abstract
My class consist of twenty-two eleventh graders. They will learn how to solve quadratic
equations using three different methods. I will go over how to factor, the quadratic formula, and
completing the square. Students will learn these methods by watching YouTube videos, making
videos, making posters, going on to wikispaces, coming up with their own equations to solve,
and using social media. By the end of the week students should be able to identify what a
quadratic equation and be able to solve it using all three methods.
