3. President's dinner – “Candid” thoughts pour in
Frank thoughts and sentiments poured in on Saturday at President's dinner. 2 of the greatest showmen of Midtown
taking the mantle of leadership (SBC & Dr.Prahlad, of course!!) led the club to new heights and it was time to bid adieu to
thecovetedpost&thattheydiditinstyle.Thedelayedstartwastoensurethatmostofthefamiliesarrivedtowitnessthe
closing remarks of the President & Secretary.
Rtn.Raghavendra came onstage after Rtn.Bhanu did the
welcoming and spoke with ease trying to floor the audience
with his wit. His talk hinted that he was enroute to bigger
roles in the district in the coming years. His comments were
repletewithpunchesraisingquiteafeweyebrows.
The duo onstage were felicitated amidst thunderous
applause by the colorful audience. Beating the traditional
reporting by the Secretary, Rtn.Prahlad mentioned that all of
the projects were covered in the bulletin and he would
refrain reading thru the list again, instead he spoke on how
the board thought of projects & activities in a different way.
He narrated various instances showcasing the “different”
thought process they adopted. Rtn.Prahlad was in his
elements and the thoughts evidently flowed smoothly as they were coming straight from his heart. Dr.Prahlad did not
forgettomentionandthankhisfamilyAnn.Prabha,Annette.Prerana&Annette.Pranavfortheirunstintedsupport.
It was then time for the formidable SBC to give the finishing touch for the wonderful year. Rtn.Bhanu began with
extreme confidence and started by thanking profusely to all those who supported his journey as the president of the
Midtown. He first called Ann.Kamalakshi & Annette.Sindhu onstage and thanked them for all the support they extended
thru the year. Rtn.Bhanu taking a “different” order, started off with thanking the much needed support staff of RMM
secretariat showing his true nature of appreciating good things in life. He disclosed surprising statistics that 67 Rotarians
and their families were part of one project or other during the year and attributed the success of the club to such
tremendous support by Midtown families. Rtn.Bhanu showered words of praise on every single person's contributing to
the year's achievements. His words clearly displayed his humbleness and gratitude. Rtn.Raghu spoke briefly and spoke
about Rtn.Bhanu's grit and commitment, he said that
Rtn.Bhanu's respect to his mother was something to be
emulated. Stalwarts of Midtown, contributors – physical,
mental & monetary were all spoken with very high regards
parting with a memento by the formidable SBC. Before the
marathon (deservingly, though!!) recognitions ended,
Rtn.BhanucalleduponDr.Prahlad'sfamilyandhonoredthem
for all the support extended thru the year. Visibly satisfied
with the way things went Rtn.Bhanu adjourned the meeting
for dinner. The show was filled with sentiment and it was
apparent that SBC and his team would carry memories of
“Engage Rotary, Change lives” year for a very long time to
come.LetMidtownspiritscontinueforever.]

In order to bifurcate the District, a district bifurca on proposal commi ee was formed in the Rotary

The commi ee met periodically to arrive at the final conclusion. Ini ally opinion regarding bifurca on

Mysore Mid Towners have been " My Dream
Rotarians " so far as their Fellowship and Service
activities are concerned. Where-ever they are,
whether in a Club weekly meeting, or a District
Meet, or in an International Convention, they look
so strong that I always see them unmatched. I have
seen them give a Health Care ambulance for Semi
Urban population and rural around Mysore, I have
seen them give a State of the art School for needy
children,Ihaveseenthemsteppingintotheshoesof

Their Club e bulletin "About Us" has been an
excellent source of information and motivation to
Rotarians, Anns Annets and Johns , showcasing the
entire fabric of the Club which is worth emulating by
others.
I look forward to joining RC Mysore Mid Town if I
am transferred to Royal City of Mysore in my future

Undisputedly the award goes to MIDTOWN
SPIRIT. Highlighting this year, there was no dearth of
community service, club service and the other
activities despite no formal fund raising, restricted
mobility of our president, busily scheduled
secretary and we had to upkeep the prestige of the
DGs home zone. Though the president, lacked sight,
he had VISION. Though raising funds was difficult,
everyone rose to the occasion. FELLOWSHIP and
TEAM SPRIT was at its best. It was a pleasure
attending meetings and all of us looked forward to
get-together. May the spirit PREVAIL AND
PERPETUATE

First Integrated System to Generate
Both Electricity and Heat.
The world's first integrated solar
system able to generate both electricity
and heat has been installed in a house in
Sydney, Australia.
The system was created by Bluescope,
an Australian steel manufacturer, which
some help from the Australian Renewable
Energy Agency (ARENA). The roof-
mounted array is made up of thin-film
solar PVs and a solar duct system that
have been integrated into steel roofing
tiles. The top layer functions like a
conventional solar panel, harvesting solar
energy for electricity, while the dual layers
trap heat between them to be distributed
for heating water and the interior of the
home.
