Women in Pakistan staged large demonstrations in Islamabad to protest gender inequality and fight for their rights. The protests saw women doing things usually prohibited like fighting and driving to make a statement against laws that treat women unequally. While this was a landmark event, it remains to be seen if laws will actually change to empower women in Pakistan in the long run.

A fight for the rights
Women decide to make a final point to the gender difference.
Discrimination against women is still an important thing to stop.
We take important steps against it in some countries, but in other
ones, like in Pakistan, women are who decide to take them.
Yesterday all changed; Pakistan women made a huge stride with a
demonstration where they took the streets to fight for their rights.
In some parts of the Middle
East, men have the right to
hurt or even kill women if
they didn’t want to marry
them or if they dressed too
provocatively. In this type of
countries, women was some
of the least empowered
women in the world, too.
They don’t want this type of
life but they couldn’t change. In the 21th century most of the
things have changed but they are still not allowed to buy their
own property, vote or even wear what they want. They are unable
to tell their opinion or to search a better life.
However, last Saturday, this point of view changed, because a
group of Pakistan women decided to express their feelings and
said which the life they want is. It took place in Islamabad, the
capital of Pakistan, and during all day people could look a woman
doing things that they are not allowed to do, like fighting or
driving. It was a large demonstration to protest because the
difference between women and men.
This was one important event in the history of women, but what
will happen now? Are laws going to change? At this moment we
don’t have more information, although we expect to have it as
soon as possible.
