Broadband is a foundation for economic opportunity, job creation, global competitiveness, attraction and retention of residents plus a better way of life for individuals, small businesses. As a result, small businesses, workers, and communities must have the broadband infrastructure, training tools to participate and compete in a changing economy. The presentation will highlight relevant points from recent household and business surveys focused on broadband as well as resources available through the Nebraska Broadband Initiative. The Nebraska Broadband Initiative is funded through a grant to the Nebraska Public Service Commission. The Nebraska Information Technology Commission Community Council (NITC), University of Nebraska - Lincoln (UNL), Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED) and the AIM Institute are cooperatively leading the effort to address the broadband planning needs of Nebraska’s communities.

1) Current theories of employee motivation, including allowing autonomy in work, helping employees gain mastery through skills development, and providing a clear sense of purpose.
2) Practical ways to apply these theories in a library setting, such as through gamification of tasks or skills training programs.

ORG operates 4 offices with nearly 50 computers. It faces challenges including unstable networks and computers, old equipment, incompatible software versions, and lack of training. The plan recommends establishing a technology management team and improving management practices. It also suggests strengthening the network infrastructure by resolving connectivity issues, improving backups, implementing virus protection, and replacing old workstations and servers. Connecting the offices into a single network and streamlining the internet strategy are also advised.
The document discusses various technology considerations for non-profit management and strategic planning. It covers topics like hardware and software purchasing, security, networking, using the web and online communication tools. When developing a technology plan, it is important to focus on organizational goals, include stakeholders, and budget for total cost of ownership beyond just initial purchases. Technology skills and training staff are also important factors.
