Children from Years 2 to 6 at Balsall Common Primary School went on virtual reality field trips using Google Expeditions, visiting places like museums, space, and the inside of the human body. The Mayor of Solihull visited and was impressed with how engaged the children were. The school hopes to offer Google Expeditions again and obtain more smartphones to run sessions regularly. The event organizer said it was a success and showed the school's commitment to inspiring learning.

Damson Wood Nursery and Infant School received a Silver Award from Solihull Neighbourhood in Bloom for their gardening activities. The school involved children, staff, and parents in growing vegetables and fruit for school meals. They also created a sensory garden, nature area, storytelling area, and bug hotel on the grounds. The head of school praised the gardening culture developed at the school and the students' engagement with the outdoor environment. At the awards ceremony, the school was thrilled to receive a Silver award in the schools category from the Mayor of Solihull.
Volunteers from Jaguar Land Rover helped improve facilities at Damson Wood Nursery and Infant School. They rebuilt gazebos and fences and constructed a clay oven to enhance the school's curriculum. Both the school and Jaguar Land Rover found the project rewarding and plan future collaborations, including a pipe tree sculpture and a wind sculpture designed by students.
A team of four 9-year-olds from Balsall Common Primary School won the Sponsorship & Marketing Award at the F1 in Schools National Final for designing and building a miniature racing car. With help from local sponsors Carl Hemming and Tom Corsi, who have donated their time and expertise to mentor the students, the Year 6 pupils have been busy in rehearsals. As the final week of rehearsals begins with full dress rehearsals, director Mel Brown thanks the sponsors for making the large production possible. The school's publicity manager Howard Rose also expresses gratitude and notes how the sponsors have helped take the production to the next level and potentially inspired students to pursue performing.
Children from Balsall Common Primary School participating in the F1 in Schools Challenge visited Solihull College to test their miniature race cars in a wind tunnel. The visit allowed the students to see engineering facilities, an aeronautical section with an airplane, and use a 3D printer. Both the college principal and a senior director agreed the visit was important to inspire future generations and invest in their skills. One student was so impressed he said he wants to work at the college in the future.
Local businesses Midshire Business Systems and M.A.Claims provided support to Balsall Common Primary School's rugby teams. Midshire supplied a new team strip while M.A.Claims donated 20 new rugby balls.
