This document summarizes an article from the International Journal of Advanced Research in Engineering and Technology that describes an adaptive antenna array that uses an LMS algorithm. The article discusses how adaptive antenna arrays can automatically track satellite signals by adjusting the phase and amplitude of antenna elements. It presents the LMS algorithm as a way to calculate the complex weights for each antenna element to direct the main beam toward the desired signal while placing nulls toward interference. MATLAB simulations demonstrate how the LMS algorithm updates the element weights to achieve beam steering toward different desired signal angles and insert nulls at interference angles. The simulations show an increase in directivity and reduction in beamwidth after applying LMS adaptive beamforming.
