Towing capacities of 6,300 lbs. (1500/ 1500 AWD) or
7,400 lbs. (2500 Extended) mean that you can haul a seriously
large load. And think of the fun you can have on the way home,
watching video of the day’s activities, on the 15” flip-down
LCD TV (low top models only), through the built-in I-pod dock.
BACK-UP CAMERA Helps the driver see objects, such as
the tongue of a trailer, on the in-dash navigation screen (shown)
or rearview mirror while moving in reverse at low speeds.

FUEL ECONOMY New to Explorer, the six-speed
Hydra-matic transmission – available on select models –
features a sophisticated 32-bit control module that optimizes
shift quality; a “steep” first gear and “tall” overdrive gears
for lively acceleration and quiet, low-rpm highway cruising.
The result is an amazing EPA highway rating of 18 mpg!
FLEXFUEL The available Vortec 5.3L V8 FlexFuel engine
operates on either regular unleaded gasoline, E85 (a blend of
ethanol and gasoline) or any combination of both. Because it
is made from primarily organic, domestic resources, E85 can
help reduce our dependence on petroleum.
