A blood drive will be held on July 1st, 2011 at Midco Waste in New Brunswick, NJ from 12pm to 6pm in memory of Evlynn Reinke, who received over 125 pints of blood and 75 bags of platelets in her final year to extend her life while doctors attempted treatments. The drive encourages donations to continue providing the gift of life to others through blood donations.

2. In her last year, Ev was given more than 125 pints of blood and 75 bags of platelets. Although the blood often had to come from strange places. There was never even a hint that it wouldn't be made available to her. Much to my surprise! The docs were literally pouring it into her to buy her some time for them to find the “leak”. Never found, but not for a lack of trying. Let's pay those donations forward so some one else has the same chance. It's truly the gift of life. If you can't get to New Brunswick, give locally.
